SMS limit increased from 5 to 20 per day

After checking the use of SMSes to prevent spreading of rumors which had led to mass exodus of northeastern people from certain states, the government today increased the number of SMSes to 20 per day with immediate effect.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Communication, it has been decided to revise the permissible limit of "bulk SMS/MMS to 20 in place of five with immediate effect".

"The other conditions will remain the same," it added.

Analyst who predicted Infosys' decline

MUMBAI: For 18 months, as Infosys' shares slumped from a record high, the only consistent "sell" rating on India's most widely held stock came from a 29-year-old analyst at an investment group little known outside the country.
Other analysts have joined Ankur Rudra in downgrading Infosys, but he says clients were initially skeptical of his call on a company famous for consistently exceeding expectations.
"How can you be right? How can you know more than what the management knows?" he recalls them asking.

Blue Coat Systems launches mobile applications controls in India

BANGALORE: Blue Coat Systems (BCS), a web security solutions provider, has introduced mobile applications controls in India to prevent security breaches by unsanctioned mobile applications on the corporate network.
"For the first time, Blue Coat through its mobile application controls give Indian administrators the ability to not only determine which applications are allowed on the network, but also to what extent mobile device users are able to interact with those applications," BCS MD for India sales Ambarish Deshpande said.

Internet shutdown: McAfee's free tool to help users

KOLKATA: McAfee has just released a free tool to help consumers who may be infected by the 'DNSChanger' Trojan to stay connected after servers are shut down by the FBI on July 9.
The new McAfee tool, helps users easily identify whether they have been affected by themalware and offers a free solution if they have been infected. Domain Name System, or DNS, converts user-friendly website names into the internet protocol (IP) addresses that computers use to talk to each other.
