US Released National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education Strategic Plan

The U.S. government will work to develop an "unrivaled" cybersecurity workforce and broaden the nation's pool of skilled cyberworkers under a draft cybersecurity education plan released Friday by a U.S. agency.

The goal of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) plan, released by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), is to improve U.S. cybersecurity by focusing on education, the agency said.

90,000 email IDs of US military hacked

LONDON, UK: Hackers have attacked the computer network of a US military contractor and stolen 90,000 email addresses, the Telegraph reported.

A wing of hacking group Anonymous said it had broken into the systems of Booz Allen Hamilton and then posted the details on the Internet.

The daily said the hackers were "apparently only able to get encrypted versions of the email passwords". Around 53,000 of them carried the military ".mil" domain.

The hackers also wiped out four gigabytes of the Booz Allen source code in the attack they called "Military Meltdown Monday".

Infosys to hire 45,000 techies this year

MYSORE, INDIA: Infosys Ltd, India's second largest IT bellwether, is back on hiring spree and plans to increase its headcount by a whopping 45,000 during this fiscal (2011-12), a top company official said here Tuesday.

"We will be hiring about 45,000 engineers worldwide in this fiscal (FY 2012), which will be 13,000 more than we projected (32,000) in April to meet the growing demand and increase the bench strength," Infosys chief executive S. Gopalakrishnan told reporters here.
